About Tutu School Wilmington

At Tutu School, we bring that dream to life. We believe that learning to dance should be a fun and creative experience for children. We combine classic motor skill development exercises with Tchaikovsky and Bach, and encourage our students to explore the magical world of ballet through imaginative activities and adventures. We believe that twirling should be a fundamental part of childhood, and strive to create a safe and supportive environment for our students to learn and grow in.

Level A: 18-24 months old * Level B: 24 months - 3 years old * Our goal in our Tutu Toddlers division is to work with you to engage your little one and give them an introduction to ballet they'll never forget. Why? Because at Tutu School we believe that exposing children at the earliest possible age to creativity, movement, and music can only lead to good things, and that dancing out stories not only exercises little bodies but also nurtures big imaginations.

Level A: 3 years old Level B: 4 years old Level C: 5 years old Classes in our Exploring Ballet division strike a perfect balance between structure and creativity. In this division we begin carefully laying the earliest foundation of ballet technique, but we always compliment our class work with fun, imaginative activities that keep young dancers captivated, engaged, and utterly in love with ballet.

primary ballet prep
Level A: 5-6 years old Level B: 6-8 years old Just because you've entered the early years of grade school doesn't mean you're ready to put aside the joys of twirling and fairytales... And why should it? In the Primary Ballet Prep division we develop pure, fundamental ballet technique that will eventually allow our students to graduate to a more disciplined study of the craft - when their little bodies are ready. In the meantime, we'll continue to practice our pliés with a healthy helping of magical fun, thank you.
