At MarineQuest, we believe that providing young people with the opportunity to explore the ocean and discover the wonders of marine habitats can have a profound impact on their appreciation of the environment. Through our marine science outreach program, we open the door to new, exciting experiences that help to foster a lifelong appreciation and respect for our marine ecosystems. We offer a wide variety of programs that introduce young people to a world of new possibilities. From our summer camp to our school field trips, our programs help to educate and inspire the next generation of marine scientists. By providing hands-on learning experiences, we give students the chance to develop an understanding of marine science and cultivate their appreciation for our fragile ecosystems.

Small Fry (Ages 4-5)

Hey Small Fry, think you are too little for MarineQuest? Heck no, you're just right for our big coastal Pre-K adventure. Explore the mucky marsh and salty sea as we discover amazing creatures who call it home. Learn how fish are specially adapted to live in the ocean and why some use our marshes as nurseries. See what fish eat and where they live. Investigate their life cycle and get a hands-on understanding of how a fish grows and develops throughout their life.

Sea Squirts (Ages 5-6)

Hey there Squirts! Are you ready to investigate the shelly, spiny, crusty, squishy, and scummy critters of the ocean? Join MarineQuest and study the field of "ickyology", better known as invertebrate zoology. Explore different marine habitats and discover some of the smallest critters and maybe even some big ones. Use science tools to examine life stages of these "icky" critters and learn about environmental issues including the invasion of the sea squirt!

Sea Dawgs (Ages 5-7)

Ahoy, Matey! Get washed ashore for a fun-filled week of shenanigans at the beach, as we explore some of the legendary sailors of the seven seas. Discover crabby crustaceans, ornery oysters, stinky sea worms and other nasty critters that inhabit our coastal environment and investigate their defense mechanisms. Learn about NC's whaling history and get swallowed up by all the fun - just make sure you don't end up in Davy Jones Locker!
