About Camp Albemarle

At Camp Albemarle, we strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children, youth, and adults can explore the wonders of God’s creation and deepen their relationships with Christ. Our camp programming is rooted in the Reformed theological tradition and focuses on teaching about the person and activity of Jesus Christ while exercising sound stewardship of the creation. We are committed to providing the best possible experience for our participants, and our Board of Directors works hard to uphold the mission, ministry, and values of our organization. We focus on developing spiritual leaders for our church and society today, and we are proud to welcome participants of all backgrounds to join us at Camp Albemarle. As a 501(c)3 organization, we are dedicated to providing a fun and educational experience that will foster spiritual growth in our campers. Our priority is always the physical, spiritual, and emotional safety of our participants, and we are passionate about providing a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for everyone who visits us.

Preschool Day Camps

Register today for an outdoor adventure for your child! Campers will play outside, rain or shine, while learning about God and the world He created around us. Activities include: Play in the outdoor classroom, Hikes to explore different areas of Camp Albemarle, Sound exploration on low tide days, Water activities such as playtime with a sprinkler and slip-n-slide, Nature crafts, stories, science experiments, and more!

Junior Overnight Camp

Are you ready for a week of summer camp on Bogue Sound? Junior Camp strives to nurture spiritual growth in our campers through interaction with the wonders of God’s creation and to foster deep relationships with Christ in our churches, communities, and the world. Our camp programs create purposeful opportunities to plant seeds and have campers grow spiritually throughout the day. At morning watch campers receive a seed for thought, providing them with a focus for the day. Bible study grants living water for campers to seek teachings directly from the bible based upon what was planted earlier that morning. At vespers one of our staff or a local pastor speaks directly on the subject, giving a strong root system for campers to reach further out in their faith. Devotions are opportunities for campers to ask questions and debrief on the day so they may begin to grow further in their faith in Christ.

Leadership Programs

Leadership Programs at Camp Albemarle are designed to help teens develop leadership skills while learning what it takes to be a great camp counselor. Junior Counselors, Counselor in Training (CIT), and Leader in Training (LIT) programs help teens explore their talents as individuals and in groups, while continuing to learn and grow in their faith. Whether your camper has been coming to Camp Albemarle for years, or are new to our camp, our Leadership Programs provide an excellent opportunity for teens to develop leadership, outdoor living skills, and life skills. Our leadership programs provide a safe place to work on these skills such as independence, time-management, and group dynamics.
