Shuffles and Chaines

Young dancers will learn rhythm and basic ballet and tap skills with proper technique for their age through song and dance. Preschool dancers will be trained in tap from a curated curriculum specific to Miss Charity's Shuffles and Chaines and in ballet from the Pre-Primary curriculum of The American Ballet Theatre (ABT) NTC, learning the joy of dance through movement.

Development Classes, for dancers second grade and up, are divided into four levels (1-4) with level 1-most basic and 4-most advanced. Within each level, there are ‘grades’ (A-C). Your dancer should progress through each grade within a level before moving on to the next, unless otherwise directed by your instructor. Example, a 2nd-4th grader at the studio would start in level 1A and then advance to 1B the following year. Each year, the student would advance one ‘grade’ (A-C) if taking the same discipline as the previous year. If you have a question regarding class placement, email info@mooresvilledance.com. Students will learn how to combine acting, singing, and dancing to create and express stories fit for the stage! Students will be introduced to terminology, acting techniques, and popular musical theatre pieces.
