Camp Trusted Parents makes a summer camp experience available to all children, teens, and young adults aged 7-22, with and without special needs. Our staff is specially trained to make the camp accessible and friendly. We have carefully crafted menus, activities, and facilities to meet the varying needs of campers diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities who use wheelchairs, walkers, or crutches. Camp Carolina Trails is a one-of-a-kind summer camp designed specifically for children and teenagers living with diabetes. This incredible opportunity is offered each year by the American Diabetes Association, Central North Carolina and is held at the picturesque Camp Hanes. Here, 132 campers are welcomed each year with a variety of age-appropriate activities and accommodations. The beautiful Sauertown Mountains provide the perfect backdrop for a week of fun, learning and friendship. Campers are housed in well-maintained cabins and are carefully supervised by a full medical and dietary staff, as well as experienced camp counselors.
