Ann Freeman Dance Academy studio is the perfect place for aspiring dancers of all ages! Our studio offers a variety of classes including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, hip hop, and acro. Our 61 years of experience and our commitment to continuing education for our staff ensures that students of all ages receive the dance education they need to reach their goals. Our adult classes have grown in popularity over the years, offering ballet, tap, jazz and now hip hop classes. Our staff are experienced and passionate about dance, and are committed to providing students with the best possible dance education. The Ann Freeman Dance Academy studio has been providing quality dance education for over 61 years. We are proud of our commitment to continuous education for our staff and our commitment to providing our students with the skills and knowledge to pursue their dance dreams!

Summer Classes
Dance is not just a September - May series of classes here at AFDA. We offer a variety of classes all summer for each age level to keep students actively training in their dance education throughout the summer. There are classes to fit everyone's summer schedule.

Preschool
For this age level dance class consist of pre-ballet movements that will help to develop the student’s flexibility, strength and muscle memory and control. This class also includes creative movement for co-ordination and awareness of space as well as a creative imagination. Tap class consists of mastering single sounds along with musical awareness with the use of song as well. This is a combo class of ballet/tap/creative movement.

Level 1 – Beginner
This level is the first level when the students begin to study ballet and tap with a more in-depth idea of what dance entails. Their ballet class focuses on strengthening the use of ankles through the use of releve’. Their tap will include mastering movements that travel the stage in more complicated patterns and adding to their terminology list. This year students will be adding a “Pre-Jazz” class to continue the training of stretching, strengthening and musical awareness.

Lyrical Dance Class
e are very excited to offer our new "Lyrical" class for 1st through 4th grade students. Along with a warmup for flexibility and strengthening, students will learn the importance of telling "a story" through lyrical dance.
