    About Winking Moon Art Adventures

    At Winking Moon Art Camp, children have the opportunity to explore their creative side and bring their ideas to life with the help of a second mind and a pair of hands. It is here that they can create, play and even bake a teatime treat for the whole group to enjoy. Weather permitting, we’ll work outdoors, as kids and the outdoors naturally go hand in hand. Every camp day follows a set rhythm. After arriving, the kids have some time to settle in during free play, before the structured activity begins. During the morning art, sewing or creating workshop, I plan an activity while still listening to the children’s own ideas. This is a fantastic way to encourage their imagination and spark their creativity. At Winking Moon Art Camp, it’s all about having fun. There’s no better way to keep kids engaged and entertained than with a mixture of free play, creative activities, and a delicious teatime treat. It is here that children have the opportunity to explore their creative side and bring their ideas to life with the help of a second mind and a pair of hands.

    Princesses, Queens and Kings
    In this camp, we will make up stories about princesses, princes, kings, queens, and the beasts that populate their kingdoms. We will bring those stories to life through drawings, and paintings, making castles for our royalty to live in and constructing peg people royalty to live in the castles. The children can design their projects as their imaginations bring them to light.

    Sewing Camp One
    In this camp, the children do print, tie-dye, and painting techniques on fabric. We use the fabric to make pillows, skirts, and bags. We also create patterns for felt stuffies, learn to pin the pattern onto the fabric, cut it out, hand sew, stuff, and decorate them. Simple embroidery is also taught. The children leave wearing a new outfit and carrying a bag of handmade creations.

    Share Your Favorite Picture Book
    I love picture books. The best ones have amazing stories and the illustrations are art lessons. In this camp, each camper will bring their favorite picture book to share. We will read one a day and then we will paint a painting to illustrate it. At the end of the week, we will collect them all into a picture book of picture books:)
