At Lake Norman Gymnastics Academy, we offer an exciting dance program called Dance Commotion, designed to introduce children to a variety of dance styles. From the fundamentals of ballet to the basics of modern dance, your little one will learn it all! No strict dress code is required, however proper dance attire and shoes are a must. Dance Commotion at Lake Norman Gymnastics Academy is a fun and educational way for children to explore the world of dance. Kids can learn the basics of ballet and modern dance styles, while also having the freedom to express themselves however they wish. Although there is no strict dress code, appropriate attire and shoes are essential.

BeAKid
Pre-Dance - Ages 2-3
Your little one is introduced to dance through creative movement, song and fun! This class enhances your young one's awareness of direction, following, improves listening skills and teaches them basic ballet steps.
BeAKid
Combo I-III Classes (Ballet, Tap and/or Jazz) - Ages 3 and Up
We offer four levels of combination classes. These classes combine traditional ballet and a variety of tap and jazz forms. Combo I learns basic ballet technique and basic tap skills, while incorporating creative movement, free dance and interactive lesson plans. Combo II-III progresses dancers in ballet and tap while learning different styles of jazz and improvisation. All dancers learn the basic positions of feet and arms in all genres, while advancing toward the next level. We recommend dancers who are interested in Combo III and up to have at least 1or more years of previous dance experience. As dancers progress through each level they build coordination and rhythm becomes more finely tuned along with strength and speed in their dances and technique.

Advanced Combo IV/ Pre-Pointe/Pointe - Ages 8 and Up
Dancers will learn and be able to advance their skills in Pre-Pointe/Point in this advanced class. This will require them to participate in and learn other genres of dance and skills that will help in ankle strengthening and improve their flexibility in ballet. This Advanced Combo IV may ONLY be taken after Combo III is completed.
