UNC Wellness Centers offer much more than a high-end fitness facility. Our facility and programs are distinguished from traditional or non-medically based gyms and fitness centers, as we offer a variety of clinical, health education, wellness, disease management and other programs. Our team of healthcare professionals provide rehabilitation programs, such as Cardiac Rehab and Physical Therapy, as well as programming specifically tailored for a variety of populations. Additionally, we offer community outreach programs, and are committed to disease management.

Swim Lessons
Youth and Adult swim lessons are offered throughout the year for swimmers ages 3 and up. Group swim lessons are for active members only. UNC Wellness Centers swim lessons emphasize water safety and skill and stroke development. Beginning swimmers are introduced to basic stroke movement and learn how to be more comfortable in the water. More advanced swimmers are instructed in stroke technique, endurance, and safety skills. UNC swim lessons have a low child-to-instructor ratio to ensure plenty of time in the water.

Group Fitness Classes
The goal of the Group Fitness program is to help our members enjoy the benefits of cardiovascular, flexibility, and strength training through safe and effective programs for all levels of fitness. We offer an extensive selection of group fitness classes each week, including classes for the beginner, intermediate, and advanced exerciser. All classes are included as part of your membership and we will provide any equipment for a class if needed.
From heart-pumping classes to serene, calming classes like Yoga and T’ai Chi, our group fitness classes provide another way to change your life and develop a positive health and fitness habit. Our outstanding staff of instructors are certified and continually updating their expertise.
