About Academy for the Performing Arts in Apex, NC
The Academy for the Performing Arts is located in a convenient spot in Apex, NC, right near the crossroads of US1 and HWY 55. Our 10,000 square foot facility has 7 large dance classrooms, each with professional flooring systems to help reduce impact and the chance of injury, wireless sound systems, and shatterproof mirrors. Preschool for the Arts has two classrooms with all the mod cons, plus a large fenced outdoor play area. Parents can take a seat in the lobby and watch their dancers on one of our flat screen televisions. Alternatively, make use of the free wi-fi and get some work done or browse the internet. At the Academy for the Performing Arts, our commitment is to provide a safe and encouraging environment for our students to learn and grow. We make sure to equip our classrooms with all the necessary amenities to ensure our students are able to reach their fullest potential.

Track Out Camps
We are excited to bring Track out for the Arts to students who are on the year round school calendar! Ages K-5th grade are invited to join us at APA for a week of activities, specialty classes, crafts, games, and of course dancing! At the end of each camp week, parents will receive a digital summary of their child’s week including a super fun video performance!

Preschool for the Arts
Preschool for the Arts is a half-day academic preschool for children ages 2-5 with a focus on the fine arts. In addition to preparing students for Kindergarten, Preschool for the Arts incorporates an introduction into the fine arts through daily “specials” in Dance, Music, Art, and Fitness. Our curriculum is designed to be a perfect blend of play-based learning and academic readiness. Therefore, our students start Kindergarten with the skills necessary to be confident and successful in the years to come. Classes at Preschool for the Arts run daily on a traditional school schedule. Summers are offered on a weekly basis.

Discover the thrill of performing on the stage through the art of acting! Our philosophy is to ignite your imagination and teach you how to become a great actor for the stage by utilizing your body, your voice, your mind, and your heart. We believe that everyone has the potential to grow and become an actor for the stage. We also believe that there are no small parts as we explore the real meaning of “ensemble” and how each person on the stage can contribute to the greatness of a piece of art. Learn how to build confidence with speaking on the stage, building fun and original characters, express ideas and emotions, and tell wonderful stories through skits, scenes, plays, and more!

Instructors will work with you on vocal technique, audition preparation, and performance practices for singers through several genres of music! Do you have experience in dance or theatre at APA?
