About Living Arts Dance Studio

Our founding director, Susan Byrd, opened the first studio in Mason, MI in September of 1992. Since then, we’ve grown to include a second studio in Williamston, MI. Our instructors are passionate about providing a great learning experience for our students. They stay up to date on the latest teaching trends by attending conventions and joining groups like CLI Studios. This education enables us to teach our students new approaches to their instruction and keeps things fresh and exciting. We take pride in providing a high level of dance instruction that is both mentally and physically healthy and fun. We believe that Dance Makes You Happy, and strive to make sure our students have a great experience and are having fun while learning.

Programs

Age 0 — 5 Preschool

Preschool age classes are designed to introduce age-appropriate coursework to a new dancer's physical, emotional, and social development through the art of dance. Preschool-level dancers learn the basic dancing elements through creative movement, tap, and ballet.

Age 6 — 8 Elementary

Elementary classes are designed to develop beginner-level skills in dance, choreography, vocabulary, and musicality with stylized execution of various dance styles. The classroom focus will be on learning techniques, self-expression, and developing performance quality.

Age 9 — 12 Middle School

Middle school level classes are designed to build on elementary skills by increasing demonstrated proficiency in dance, choreography, vocabulary, musicality, and stylized execution of various dance styles. The classroom focus will be on increasing technique, self-confidence, improvisation, storytelling, and demonstrating performance quality.
