At The Pointe Academy Dance Center, Oakland Township families have been accessing quality dance instruction for the past 29 years. Our professional instructors use a positive approach to teaching, encouraging the fun of dancing and instilling respect for family values. With a wide range of classes - including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, hip-hop, and tumbling and acro - there is something for everyone. In addition, our competitive team, Epic, offers experienced dancers the chance to take their dancing to the next level. We also provide our students with plenty of performance opportunities and a way to give back to their community. The Pointe Academy Dance Center in Oakland Township has been providing children ages three and up with quality dance instruction for the past 29 years. Our knowledgeable instructors use a positive approach to teaching, emphasizing the joy of dance and promoting family values. With a variety of classes from ballet to hip-hop, and tumbling and acro, we have something for everyone. Experienced dancers can join our competitive team, Epic, for the chance to further their skills. We also give our students the opportunity to perform and give back to their community.

PRE-DANCE/ CREATIVE MOVEMENT: Ages 2 1/2 to 5

This class challenges young dancers to explore movement, and creativity through rhythmic games and loco-motor activities. Children are introduced to structured dance classes without the rigors of technical training. These children are introduced to all styles of dance, ballet, tap and jazz. Students in this class will have a Formal Pre-Dance Demonstration at the end of the year.

REPERTORY COMPANY ADVANCED BALLET Ages: 13+

Advanced Progressive training in the art and technique of classical ballet, which is the foundation of all dance forms. Cecchetti and Russian styles are among the techniques taught at PADC. Classes are designed for the intermediate up to the pre-professional dancers. Repertory dances are required to take 3 Ballet Classes a week.

LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY Ages: 13+

Fusion of jazz and ballet techniques. Contemporary dance is a genre of concrete dance and improvisation rather than just choreography. Lyrical and contemporary describe a range of techniques and styles that allow one to express their feeling and emotions through dance while learning beautiful choreographed works of art.
