About Lions Bear Lake Camp
At Lions Bear Lake Camp, we understand the importance of teaching children essential leadership skills that will help them succeed in life.
Our campers gain self-confidence and learn the importance of developing positive relationships with their peers, as well as how to manage their own emotions and behavior.
Our activities are designed to help campers foster a sense of responsibility and develop their critical thinking skills.
Lions Bear Lake Camp is dedicated to providing premier outdoor educational and recreational experiences to all persons, regardless of ability.
We offer a variety of activities including swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, archery, arts and crafts, and team building.
Our campers have the opportunity to explore nature while learning about wildlife conservation, environmental stewardship, and outdoor safety.
We also host special events and activities throughout the year, such as overnight camping trips and field trips into some of Michigan’s most beautiful parks and forests.

SUMMER CAMP
Trail hikes, low ropes, climbing tower and zip line, team building games, group bonding, bonfires, swimming, camp food, songs, crafts and so much more. Summer camps are certainly not the only thing we do at Lions Bear Lake Camp, but it has always been a central piece of our reason for being. We approach summer camp with a great deal of preparation.
Deaf & Hard of Hearing Camp
Deaf & Hard of Hearing Camp is a one week session specifically designed for youth with hearing impairments that, in school, are learning to use spoken language and discriminate sounds. The week at camp supports their schooling by giving opportunities for youth to practice and explore their communication skills in a supportive and energizing environment. The teaching and practicing of language skills is woven into a typical camp program with a focus on drama and journal writing.
Visually Impaired and Blind Youth Sessions
Bear Lake Camp offers a one-week session for youth with visual impairments. The session is developed and coordinated by a teacher of the blind and visually impaired. The key to the success of our program is having lots of fun. While they are having fun, they are developing self-concepts and social skills. The programs are also designed to support the development of orientation and mobility, independence with daily living skills. Campers are also introduced to outdoor recreation skills with a focus on the independent mastery of skills.
