They could very well be the descendants of Robin Hood, the way they can hit a bullseye while standing on their heads or hanging from trees! Their leader, Bullseye Bucky, is a humorously tall kid with an ever-present grin stretching from Portland to Bangor. His favorite pastime, other than sending arrows whizzing through the air, is crafting epic, funny stories about his archery adventures. He once shared a tale about a wicked arrow that refused to fly straight. Instead, it zigzagged all over the place, causing the team to duck, dive, and dance like a band of jolly jugglers! It was hilariously chaotic, but Bucky finally tamed the naughty arrow with a tickle, proving laughter truly was the best solution. The Sharpshooters of Maine are much more than just kids who love archery. They are a hilarious, brave, and determined squad of friends who transform the art of shooting arrows into a wild adventure, filled with laughter and fun. At Camp Agawam, boys have the opportunity to become their best selves. Through a seven-week program, campers will gain leadership skills, nurture teamwork, and have healthy competition in a digital-free environment. This builds into them the traits of sportsmanship, service to others, and stewardship of the natural world that have been at the heart of the Agawam experience since 1919. The camp is located on a 125 acre campus on Crescent Lake in Maine and is open to boys between the ages of 8 and 15 years. The camp program offers a variety of activities including water and land sports, creative and performing arts, wilderness trips, and camp craft. With over 75% of campers returning each year, it is clear that Camp Agawam is a great place for boys to grow and develop. Parents can rest assured that their sons are in good hands at Camp Agawam. With a dedicated alumni network extending around the globe, a boy can leave camp with new skills, new friends, and a new sense of his own capacity. For those who are new to camp, they may have the opportunity to try it out in a 3.5-week session. Camp Agawam is an incredible place for boys to learn, grow, and make lasting memories.
