Fernwood Cove

The Athletics and Fitness programs at Fernwood Cove are structured to ensure appropriate level instruction and skill progression for campers of all ages. Campers are able to choose from a variety of individual and team sports, as well as group and individual fitness options. Each camper is required to participate in at least one Sports or Fitness option each week. This helps ensure that campers stay physically active throughout the camp session. Sports and Fitness options change weekly, providing campers ample opportunity to participate in their favorite activities. The Fernwood Cove Athletics and Fitness programs stress fair play, putting forth your personal best, and supportive sportsmanship

The Fernwood Cove Creative Arts programs provide a welcoming atmosphere for all campers to build self-esteem and technical skills in a variety of artistic platforms. Campers are able to explore everything from our general arts & crafts, to more technical options like culinary arts, fabric arts, and painting. Each creative arts activity allows campers to complete a project within the focus week. The creative arts counselors at Fernwood Cove have strong backgrounds in a variety of artistic and creative media. Many arts counselors are current students or graduates of university level art programs and specialize in their respective activity areas. Counselors develop the arts activities to encourage creativity while also developing skills related to the specific activity or project.

In Fernwood Cove’s Performing Arts program, campers of all ages and abilities have the opportunity to express themselves in a supportive environment. Options include drama, guitar, singing, dance and gymnastics- each providing the opportunity to perform in our weekly Performance Night or end of camp performances. The Chickawah Theater provides the perfect backdrop for campers as they have their moment to shine in the spotlight. Fernwood Cove counselors bring a wealth of knowledge and experience with them to the Performing Arts activities. Many counselors have a significant background in performing arts, with many being current students or recent graduates of performing arts or performing arts education programs. Our dance and gymnastics counselors have advanced level experience with competitive experience and nationally recognized training.
