About The Dance Place Studio

At The Dance Place Studio in Worcester, Massachusetts, we believe in the power of dance. We strive to create a safe and comfortable environment where all of our students can learn the techniques and fundamentals of various styles of dance, such as ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop, contemporary, musical theater, acrobatics, modern and creative movement. At The Dance Place Studio, we are dedicated to helping our students develop their self-esteem, confidence, and creativity. Our mission is to instill an appreciation for the art of dance and to provide our students with experiences that will last a lifetime. We also offer competitive and performance opportunities for our students who are looking to take their training to the next level.

Creative Movement
Dancers will learn basic steps and terminology in ballet and explore their creative movement styles through the use of imaginative music and games in a safe, positive environment. Dancers in this class will work on flexibility and coordination through fun, age-appropriate movement and exercises. Our instructors use imagination games, upbeat age-appropriate music, and props to inspire and excite students about dance.

Tap/Ballet Combo
This is a combination class with ~20 minutes of tap training and ~25 minutes of ballet training. Dancers are introduced to more formal dance techniques. This class will lay the foundation for correct, safe, and successful dancing in years to follow. Students will expand on the basic steps and terminology in ballet and tap and continue to explore their creative movement. Along with introducing more skills and techniques, dancers in this class will improve flexibility and coordination.​

Ballet Technique
Students will focus on building the strength, flexibility, and control needed to execute ballet moves. Each class will emphasize barre exercises and include a combination of center floor work and across-the-floor progressions. This class does not have a year-end performance.
