Rainbow Child Development Center (RCDC) offers a comprehensive, high-impact approach to early childhood education. Located in Worcester, Massachusetts, the Center serves 250 at-risk children from 6 weeks to 13 years old. With three innovative programs - Family Child Care, Preschool, and Extended Learning School Age Program - and support from community partners, RCDC is transforming the lives of children and their families. Experienced teachers and administrators use leading-edge programming, assessment best practices, and strong partnerships with parents to help bridge the achievement gap and break the cycle of poverty. RCDC’s holistic approach to education helps families rise above poverty and become self-sufficient. Family Child Care

Infants and toddlers enjoy all the comforts of a home in an educational, safe, licensed setting and so much more! Rainbow’s Family Child Care (FCC) Educators are entrusted with a parent’s most precious treasure, namely their infant or toddler. Rainbow’s Educators are very sensitive to how difficult and challenging it is for mothers and fathers to adjust to having someone else care for their infant or young toddler while they are at work.

Preschool

Preschool teachers provide an active learning environment that encourages children to explore, discover, create, problem solve, socialize and express their feelings while building self-esteem and achieving age appropriate milestones. Teachers facilitate specific activities that support skill building in areas critical to prepare young children to successfully transition to kindergarten.

Extended Learning – School Age Program

The focus is an enriched, stimulating curriculum with an emphasis on homework, academic assistance, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) activities, and physical exercise from the close of school to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and school vacations. Established in three locations, namely Belmont Community School, City View Discovery School and Rainbow Child Development Center.
