At our school, we believe that writing should be an integral part of every subject area and grade level. To ensure that our students are developing their writing skills, we will be measuring our school's focus through school-wide writing assessments. These assessments will include a variety of formative and summative assessments administered at every grade level. Through this approach, we will be able to see our students' understanding and comprehension of both fiction and nonfiction literature and texts. We also want to emphasize open response writing, which will allow our students to express their understanding of the material in an individualized manner. To ensure that our school is implementing best practices in writing, we will be using a consistent and systematic approach. We are confident that this method will help our students grow as writers and help our school get the best results.
