About Westford Community Rowing

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rower, WCR provides a supportive and safe environment for all rowers to learn and enjoy the sport of rowing. At WCR, we believe that rowing is a great way to bring the community together. We offer a variety of opportunities for all levels of rowers, from recreational to competitive. We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our members, while respecting the waterways and surrounding areas we use for rowing. At Westford Community Rowing, we are dedicated to providing a positive rowing experience for all. Our programs are designed to promote and support community-based rowing and to teach and train rowers and coxswains. We are passionate about creating an inclusive environment for all rowers, regardless of age or ability. Our goal is to inspire a lifelong love of rowing and to foster a sense of community and respect for the waterways and surrounding areas used for rowing.

Junior Learn to Row

This program is for rising 8th-12th graders with little or no rowing experience. Students will learn the basics of the rowing stroke as well as boat anatomy, safety and boathouse procedures. Depending on numbers, a mix of sculling and sweep rowing will be introduced in a range of boat classes (singles, doubles, fours, etc.).

WA Boot Camp

This program is for high school rowers with at least one season of rowing experience. A two week course for returning rowers who want to get a kickstart to the fall WA season!! This will mostly focus on small boats (fours and smaller) pending registration numbers.

Returner's Summer Regatta

This program is for high school rowers with at least one season of rowing experience. Two weeks of practice will be occur just prior to the Sweeps and Sculls Regatta on Saturday August 6th in Providence RI. Entries will mostly focus on small boats. Come out for a fun regatta!
