At our practice, we understand that the journey towards success can be challenging, and we are committed to helping our clients learn the skills they need to navigate their environments. We focus on teaching educational skills, play skills, social skills, and coping skills to enable our clients to access their environments in a meaningful and impactful way. Our practice provides assessments, programming, and family support to ensure that each client is able to reach their highest potential, despite the challenges that may arise along the way. SOCIAL SKILLS
Social skills are multi-element skills that we use everyday to interact and communicate with one another. This includes both verbal and non-verbal language (e.g. gestures, body language, physical appearance). It also includes both social initiations and responses. Social skills empower individuals to develop and maintain appropriate interactions with others. Social skills are important when developing and maintaining positive friendships. It is also important for individuals to understand how to engage in appropriate conflict resolution when social interactions do not go smoothly.
