About Parkway Community YMCA - Bear Camp

At Bear Camp, our mission is to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment for campers to have an incredible summer experience. With activities that range from swimming, arts and crafts to organized games and structured activities, our campers will be able to learn, explore and create lasting memories. We partner with the national park service so campers can explore the public lands and historical sites that the Greater Boston area has to offer. Plus, lunch is provided so campers can come together and build community and friendships. It’s going to be an amazing summer!

GYMNASTICS
Learn basic gymnastics skills like forward rolls, handstands and cartwheels. Flexibility and proper stretching techniques will be taught.

SWIMMING LESSONS
Swim lessons provide important life skills that could save a life and will benefit students for a lifetime. To build a better us, the Y teaches youth, teens, and adults to swim, enabling you to stay safe around water and learn the skills needed to make swimming a lifelong pursuit for staying healthy. Y swim instructors are nationally certified. Their training includes CPR, AED, First Aid and Oxygen Administration.

PRESCHOOL SOCCER
This class will teach the fundamentals of soccer. Classes will focus on improving the players’ ball control skills, learning game rules and teamwork, and then playing a game.

Child Watch
Children ages 6 weeks and up develop trust and security and preschoolers experience early learning experiences like story time, crafts and physical activities.
