About Rocking Unicorn

The Rocking Unicorn Nursery School was established in 1981 by Gretchen Kolb Cauble, M.S. Ed. Gretchen is a proud alum of Chatham High School, having graduated in 1984, and Colby-Sawyer College in 1988. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Education from Wheelock College in 1993. The Rocking Unicorn Nursery School is licensed by the MA Dept. of Early Education and Care, and all its teachers and administrators meet and exceed the state requirements for certification. This is testament to the commitment to quality that has been a hallmark of the school since its founding.

Creative expression such as music, art, block building, and dramatic play are essential ingredients in our program.

Gardening Program
We have an herb garden, a vegetable garden, and a flower garden. We use a composter to create our own organic soil using the fruit and vegetable scraps from our lunches and snacks.
