For over thirty years, the school provided quality preschool education to the area, until state cutbacks forced its closure in 2008. Luckily, a year later, a group of determined local mothers took it upon themselves to fill the gap left by the school's closure by founding the Wellfleet Montessori Preschool. This school offers an alternative learning environment for preschoolers of the Lower Cape, and is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space for children to develop their natural curiosity and unleash their potential.
