The Massachusetts Horticultural Society (MHS) is working hard to help people and communities learn the power of growing plants. Through its library, educational programming, exhibitions, and community outreach, MHS is teaching guests the importance of plants, gardens, and natural landscapes to our lives. MHS has been a leader in horticulture since 1829, helping to better the lives of people by providing expert advice and knowledge. The society strives to empower people to become active growers and gardeners, so that everyone can learn to appreciate the beauty of plants. By helping to spread knowledge and understanding of horticulture and its related sciences, MHS is creating a brighter future for us all. As America’s first established horticultural society, MHS continues to live up to its founding mission of ‘for the public good’.

The Art of Planting Design
Learn to design in seasonal sequence. In this 3-session virtual Class and 1 garden tutorial walk at the Garden at Elm Bank you’ll learn color pairing and how to create your own color palette and use it to create stunning perennial and shrub combinations. You’ll learn how to lay-out your plant pairings to create an abundant, dynamic, and colorful flower garden in seasonal sequence.
