About The Dancer's Sole

At The Dancer’s Sole, we foster a positive learning environment in which our students can develop their skills and discover their potential. Founded in 2013 by well-known choreographer, instructor and performer Kristen Surprise St. Laurent, The Dancer's Sole is dedicated to providing the highest quality of dance education in a professional but fun setting. With more than 30 years of professional dance experience and 15+ years of teaching experience, Kristen is committed to helping each student reach their highest potential. The Dancer’s Sole offers classes in a variety of dance genres, including ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, lyrical/contemporary, hip-hop, modern, tumbling/acro and musical theatre/Broadway dance. We also have special programs for our first-time tot dancers. Our classes provide an atmosphere that encourages learning and development, and our students are able to explore their creativity and find their own unique style. At The Dancer’s Sole we are passionate about helping our students explore their talents and find joy in the art of dance. With the help of our experienced and knowledgeable staff, students of all ages can learn and grow in a positive and supportive environment. We strive to provide a place where our students can have fun, be creative, and discover their potential.

Move With Me | Walking to 2.5 years

​An introductory dance and creative movement program, specifically catered to our youngest students! Students will learn rhythmic movements; hand-eye coordination; counting music; stretching; and basic pre-dance techniques. Our Move With Me classes offer a chance for parents to spend extra "special" time with their child. Our goal of one-on-one quality instruction is essential for our students' development of self-esteem and sense of personal achievements.

​Pre-Dance | Ages 3 - 4.5

A fun, energetic and exciting class for our first-time dancers! Students will learn ballet & tap dance basics, establishing the foundations of dance technique in each genre. Our Pre-Dance classes also introduce creative movement & pre-acrobatic/gymnastic exercises, using music and props to help students discover their physical abilities and learn how their bodies can move and stretch! *Attendees must be fully potty-trained.

Ballet | All Ages

Ballet is considered the most artistic dance form, performed to music using precise and highly formalized set steps and gestures. Classical ballet is characterized by light, graceful, fluid movements. Classes include the introduction to/practice of ballet dance techniques depending on level of previous experience, if any. Students will engage in ballet barre exercises, across-the-floor & center floor combinations. Dancers will begin to understand how their bodies move and elicit proper ballet technique, both physically and via vocabulary/definitions.
