About Sterling Martial Arts

At SMA we emphasize the life skills that come with martial arts training. Our instructors focus on developing students’ physical, mental, and spiritual strengths, as well as helping them learn the values of honesty, integrity, respect, discipline, and honor. We strive to create a safe and fun learning environment in which our students can develop and excel. Our classes are designed to challenge our students and to build confidence as martial artists. We provide an opportunity for our students to test their skills in competition and to achieve personal growth.

Shotokan Karate
The karate program at Sterling Martial Arts is for children kindergarten 5 and up and adults of all ages and abilities. There are kids' classes for different ability levels, adult classes, and combined classes where students of different levels as well as parents and children can train together.

Little Samurai
Our karate program for 3 to 5 year olds. The 50 minute class consists of 30 minutes of karate incorporated into games, balance / coordination exercises, and other fun activities. The last 20 minutes the class moves to the PreSchool gym to do basic gymnastics and tumbling using the same stations as the PreSchool Gymnastics Program at Sterling Gym.

RAD for Women
The RAD system is a nationally renowned comprehensive women's self-defense program. It is specifically geared towards women and instructs them how to use their unique physical power to their advantage. It is not for the weak of heart, but is specifically designed for women who are willing to consider defense as a viable option in situations where they are in jeopardy. The 10-hour program not only teaches blocks and strikes, but spends considerable time teaching about the risks of personal safety. The whole package helps create the all-important defensive mindset.
