About Edgewood Pool and Tennis Club

In 1955, my husband David and I moved to Judson Street in Raynham and discovered that there were no athletic facilities in the area. Having grown up enjoying the benefits of swimming and tennis clubs in Western Pennsylvania, I was determined to provide the same opportunity for our children. When I picked up my son Peter from Brick House school, I began discussing the idea of starting a swim-tennis club with other parents, Lois Burden and Richalie Wyatt. We gathered a group of enthusiastic supporters and soon had a board of professionals ready to provide free advice and financial backing. The dream of our swim-tennis club soon became a reality. With the help of our board of professionals, we were able to find a suitable location and complete the necessary legal requirements for the club. We also organized a social committee to plan events and attract members. The Judson Street Swim-Tennis Club opened its doors in June of 1962. It quickly became a popular place for our children and their friends to enjoy the summer months. The club also provided a much-needed sense of community for the parents of Raynham, many of whom had moved to the area from other towns. This was the beginning of a legacy of providing the community with a place to enjoy fun and fellowship.

Tennis Programs

FUTURE STARS (Ages 10 and Under) This is an instructional clinic for children ages 10 and Under learning to play. Students may have some experience playing but it is not required. JUNIOR TENNIS CLINIC (Ages 10 -16) This is a instructional clinic for ages 10 and Up for children interested in playing matches. Students will improve their skills and work on all the strokes with the goal of playing competitively on travel teams or in individual tournaments. ADULT TENNIS CLINIC (Ages 17+) This is an instructional clinic for all adults

Swim Lessons

We will be closed on Monday, July 4th, in order to observe this holiday. Makeups for Independence Day will be held on Monday, August 22nd. Reach out to Darlene for more information.
