About The American Chinese Art Society (ACAS) in Newton, MA
The American Chinese Art Society is dedicated to preserving and promoting Chinese culture through its promotion of traditional Chinese dance. Established in 1984, the ACAS offers young dancers rigorous training in the performing arts, as well as annual and biennial events such as the Chinese Dance Festival, the Summer Workshop and the New England Chinese Dance Competition. Additionally, the ACAS Dance Studio provides classes for all ages with an annual open performance to conclude each year. The ACAS has provided an excellent platform for young dancers to further their skills and share their artistic heritage with the world. The organization has been invited to perform in various locations throughout the United States and abroad, providing an invaluable experience for the talented young dancers to express their artistry and promote Chinese culture.

DANCE TROUPE
TRADITIONAL CHINESE DANCE TROUPE With more than thirty (30+) years of distinguished history in promoting Chinese culture and fostering future dancers, the ACAS Traditional Chinese Dance Troupe is the longest running Chinese dance troupe in the New England area. Through an annual open audition, the dance troupe accepts children aged seven (7) and above who are interested in dancing. Tuition is free for troupe members who only pay a required annual membership fee.

Summer Workshop
DIVERSE CURRICULUM Chinese Dance Chinese Basic Ballet Training Jazz Training Hip-Hop Training Stage Make-Up On the first day of the Workshop, all students will be placed into classes based on age. The curriculum for each level is designed to be challenging as well as best fitting for that stage of the student's development. All students will receive a minimum of 4 hours dance lesson each day. In addition, there will be other course & activities aimed at improving their overall performing arts capabilities.
