About Plowshares Childcare Program

Plowshares was established in 1976 with the mission of providing quality early education and child care in Newton and the surrounding communities. The non-profit, tax-exempt organization has grown to include three locations housed within Newton public school buildings, with more than 200 families receiving the best care and educational services available. Plowshares is dedicated to providing a stimulating, enriching, and nurturing learning environment for young children and their families. Through their three locations in Newton public school buildings, they are able to offer high-quality educational and care services to over 200 families. Since its founding in 1976, Plowshares has been committed to delivering superior early education and child care services to the citizens of Newton and the surrounding communities. Their three locations are staffed by experienced professionals, providing a safe and nurturing environment for over 200 families to benefit from the best care and educational services available.

Summer Fun Camp

Plowshares Fun Camp is for children enrolled in 1st through 5th grade in fall 2020 and located at the Newton North High School. Indoor activities take place in spacious, bright, and air conditioned classrooms. The program also has access to many of the outside fields and indoor gym spaces for sports and gross motor activities and is an easy walk to Cabot Park and the Newton Free Library.

Preschool Summer Camp

Plowshares preschool summer fun program is located at our main facility on the grounds of newton north high school. Teachers utilize their special talents and expertise, geared toward creating a relaxed and fun filled summer with lots of outdoor play and learning activities, field trips, specialty days, exciting themes, and seasonal curricula.
