At Family ACCESS, we strive to empower and strengthen families through four critically important integrated programs. The Family ACCESS Early Learning Center provides inclusive, high-quality early childhood education for children ages three to five, and is designed to ensure a smooth transition to kindergarten. Our Family ACCESS Early Literacy Services provide valuable educational resources to families with children from birth to age seven, to help them succeed in school and life. Our Family ACCESS Counseling and Consultation Services provide counseling, support, and resources to families of all ages and backgrounds. Finally, our CAP Child Assault Prevention program offers evidence-based prevention and education programs to children and families throughout the Newton and surrounding communities.
For more than a century, Family ACCESS has been dedicated to providing high-quality services to families regardless of their economic status. Our integrated programs have impacted the lives of thousands of families and continue to be a powerful force for positive change in the community. With our commitment to providing access to the best educational resources, we are helping to create brighter futures for our children and our community.
We understand that choosing the people who will care for your ‘heart’ when you are not there is an important and, often difficult, decision. You want to know your baby is safe, loved and nurtured. Our nationally-accredited infant program offers spacious, safe classrooms with educated, well-trained staff and a comprehensive support system for families to give you and your baby what you need to grow and flourish. We honor the relationship between you and your child and value your relationship with us.
Our infant classroom is designed to allow plenty of opportunity for exploration, and our low teacher-child ratios facilitate sensitive and responsive relationships. Low shelves give infants independent access to their choice of toys, floor pads cushion young crawlers, climbing lofts build strong bodies and adventurous minds, and sleeping areas with individual cribs ensure restful naps. Age-appropriate infant equipment and manipulative toys enhance motor skills and intellectual curiosity. Infants remain in the same classroom for an entire year, promoting strong attachment with caregivers. Weather permitting, teachers take the children out on buggy rides and spend time in our garden courtyard to explore their natural surroundings and enjoy the fresh air.
Keeping your baby’s health and well-being in mind, we sanitize toys and equipment each day and visitors remove their shoes before entering the classrooms.

Toddler Child Care Program
Our Toddler Program provides a stimulating child care environment to help your child develop self-awareness, independence, language and communication skills. Grounded in the Brazelton Touchpoints Approach, the program allows us to respond to your child’s individual stages of development while helping you interpret and respond to his or her unique behaviors and strengths.
Our toddler classroom is designed to allow plenty of opportunity for exploration, and our low teacher-child ratios facilitate lots of individualized attention. Bright, expansive rooms encourage active and creative play, climbing lofts build strong bodies and adventurous minds, child-sized toilets facilitate potty training. Age-appropriate games, books, art supplies, sensory tables and manipulative toys enhance motor skills and intellectual curiosity. Twice daily children enjoy outdoors play on the playground sized just for toddlers, in our summer spray pool and on our open field. When bad weather forces us indoors, children play in our full-sized auditorium and gymnasium equipped with scooters, balls and tumbling equipment (keeping your child’s health and well-being in mind, we sanitize toys and equipment each day).
