About Children's Cooperative Nursery School

At Children's Cooperative Nursery School, we strive to create a learning environment that encourages and supports each child's independence, creativity, and self-confidence. Our developmentally appropriate program puts primary emphasis on social-emotional growth, and children are given plenty of opportunities to learn and explore through structured activities such as art, music, science, and literature, as well as free-choice activities. We also ensure that our program is non-sexist and celebrates cultural diversity.

Preschool
The objective for the Four Day Class is to provide a gentle transition from home to school. For some children, this is the first time separating from parents. The emphasis is on building independence and self-confidence, and early friendships.

Pre-K
The Pre-K Class builds on the preschool foundation, while shifting focus towards relationships with others and group interactions. Children engage in more cooperative play, collaborative projects, and problem solving within a group. Topics become more sophisticated and reflect a growing interest in the world at large. Children develop classroom skills essential for Kindergarten.

Extended Day
The Co-op offers the following Extended Day options at extra cost: -Early Drop Off: Daily 8:30am -Extended Day: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 12:00 to 2:30 During their afternoon stay days, the children enjoy a lunch brought from home and quiet activities with a smaller group of friends from both classes. All early drop off and extended day sessions are run by regular Co-op teaching staff.
