Established over a hundred years ago by Elizabeth Fyffe, a violinist and composer, ANMS continues to provide exceptional musical instruction and resources to the Newton community. With excellent faculty and staff, the school offers a variety of courses and activities for all ages, from young children to adults, ranging from appreciation classes to musical theatre and more. ANMS alumni have gone on to become orchestral musicians, soloists, chamber players and lifelong music advocates. Everyone is invited to join this vibrant musical community!

BeAKid
MUSICAL THEATER COURSE
Actors will spend the semester creating and exploring imaginative characters, learning choreography, and proper singing techniques with directors and musicians Bradley Robinson and Megan Henderson; experienced musical theatre educators. Broadway Bound will allow each actor to sing, dance, deliver lines, and be part of a theatrical ensemble that builds presence and self-confidence. The creative and engaging instructors will work with the young actor’s ideas to develop scenes for each class as they prepare to perform their musical theater showcase production.

Rock, jazz and blues ensembles
There rock, jazz and blues ensembles provide an opportunity for all musicians to experience different genres of music. The program allows classically trained musicians to crossover to contemporary ensemble playing. Berklee School of Music trained instructors make every effort to accommodate all instrumentalists. Each band participates in live performances, one of which is held in a professional venue.

SUZUKI VIOLIN
SUZUKI VIOLIN PROGRAM PRIVATE LESSONS WITH GROUP CLASS Suzuki Violin Method of teaching makes it possible for young children to play an instrument in as natural a way as they learn to speak. Integrating listening, imitation, a nurturing environment, and parent participation, Suzuki’s philosophy embraces the child’s total development. Children begin Suzuki lessons starting at age 4 1⁄2. This program consists of one weekly private lesson and one weekly group class.
