About Charles River Ballet Academy

At CRBA, students of all ages can strive to reach their fullest potential while learning classical ballet technique. The academy makes ballet enjoyable and provides a positive experience for all, instilling a love of dance in every student. Many of our students have their sights set on a career in ballet, and CRBA can be a stepping stone in that journey. But even if your child or you just want to take ballet as a hobby, the teachers at the academy will help you to reach the level that is right for you.

Ballet Together (Age 2-3)
Introduce your toddler to an exciting world of dance in this class! Take your child's first steps in ballet together! A creative mix of movement, music, and storytelling helps the young child gain strength, flexibility, and social skills. Ballet Together also provides an early exposure to the essence of the art form of ballet: telling a story with your body in music.

Children's Division (age 3-7)
Kids mix learning the basics of ballet with fun, creative dance, and imagery. As students progress through the levels, they will learn more ballet positions and steps to prepare them for formal training. No dance experience is necessary for these classes. Students take one class per week.

Upper Division (age 7-18)
In progressive levels, students develop classical technique and artistry through barre and center exercises. Professional training and a positive, fun atmosphere go hand in hand. Students are carefully coached as they refine their technique. The artist in each student is also cultivated as students learn stories and choreography from classical ballets, and create original dances. At the instructor's discretion, students who have developed the necessary strength and alignment and are an appropriate age will begin pointe work.
