At Keystone Montessori School, children are given the tools they need to become lifelong learners. Since its founding in 1998, the school has provided an environment where children can grow and develop through their daily experiences in multi-age classrooms. Under the guidance of the school's Montessori-trained faculty, students are empowered to make decisions and problem-solve, as well as explore and discover in a variety of disciplines that include math, reading, writing and comprehension, geography, art, music, foreign language, cultural studies, science, zoology, and botany.

Beginners' Program 3 months - 2.9 years
Neuroscience has validated the Montessori method to support your child’s most critical learning stages, from birth to 6 years of age. During her observations, Maria Montessori noted that even the youngest of children have the ability to absorb language and revel in sensory experiences, and find their places within their learning environments.
Children’s House Preschool & Kindergarten (2.9-6 years)
Children’s House students learn in unique ways that makes this the perfect age to embark on their Montessori education. Your child wants to be an active participant in their learning process. It’s at this stage that they have become aware of others, and they possess the innate desire to mimic the behaviors of people around them. Because of this, they are primed to focus on the lessons presented to them while doing their best to copy them with great pleasure. It is not the adult who shapes the child; it is the child who, through their experiences, creates an adult human being.
Upper Elementary 9 - 12 years
Our Elementary program at Keystone Montessori School is a six year plan of study following the curriculum created by Italian physician, Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952), for children in what she termed the "second plane of development." Developmentally, physically and emotionally, Upper Elementary students (ages 9-12) are transitioning into adolescence. Children in this age group are very similar to one another, although they present themselves in various ways. They are beginning to demand their independence, but still require emotional and organizational support. Our program is characterized by an emphasis on self-directed inquiry on the part of the child, immersion in a 'prepared environment' by the teacher as a springboard for learning, and the use of self-correcting materials that introduce complex and abstract concepts concretely.
