About First Step Preschool

Sisters Traci Coletti and Lisa Hokanson have been passionate about providing a strong educational foundation for young students since they opened First Step Preschool in January of 1997. With backgrounds in education, they strive to create an environment that gives children ages 2.9 - 6 years old the opportunity to learn and socialize in a safe and encouraging atmosphere. First Step Preschool goes beyond the traditional preschool experience. We make sure to recognize the individual needs of each student and provide them with an immersive, unique learning experience. This is the foundation of our preschool and we take this responsibility very seriously.

First Step offers each child an opportunity to take those "first steps" by implementing an affective environment which is colorful, pleasant, inviting and creates a comfortable atmosphere. Our Goals - encouraging creativity, following directions, teaching listening skills, encouraging self-reliance skills and developing an awareness of beauty in nature, music and art. -developing a positive self-image by providing constant positive reinforcement on a daily basis. -teaching children to interact more positively by expressing themselves through proper use of language and communication. -providing an age-appropriate, challenging atmosphere which creates an increased sense of curiosity and individual development. -encouraging parent involvement and participation through school related activities.
