At Early Childhood School of Georgetown, we understand how difficult spending the day apart is for both you and your baby. Our goal is to make that time as comfortable and worry-free as possible. We honor the role that our care givers have as one of the first adult models that your baby also begins to trust. We are proud to offer a self-contained and nurturing environment for your baby to thrive in.

As the children of Early Childhood School of Georgetown migrate on their developmental journey into Preschool, they also enter the second floor of our Victorian house. This geographical move not only marks each child’s progression physically, but also allows each preschooler the emotional and cognitive recognition he and she deserves. The three classrooms upstairs are designed to celebrate every child’s growth as well as their eventual graduation from the early childhood environment, into the beginning of his and her primary school education.Early Childhood School of Georgetown has two preschool rooms. Each room contains a blend of children, aged 2.9 months to 3.11 years old. This heterogeneous developmental mix offers huge motivation to the younger children in building their self-initiation skills. This also provides the older children an opportunity to build self-confidence, model team mentality and to build leadership roles.

At Early Childhood School of Georgetown, we nurture the specific developmental path of each toddler with our two dynamic toddler classrooms. Our group size stays small, with the maximum group size of nine toddlers with two teachers. During the toddler phase of life, there are so many amazing verbal, cognitive, social/emotional and physical areas of growth. At ECSG, we celebrate and guide each toddler’s development through process-orientated art projects, sensory stimulation play, children’s literature and age-appropriate hands-on activities.

The final step in each child’s journey through our early childhood school is our Pre-Kindergarten class. This classroom is designed for four year olds. The main goal of our Pre-Kindergarten class is to ensure that every student enters his/her Kindergarten class as a confident and excited student, an enthusiastic emergent reader, with a strong comprehension of base numbers 0-10. Our Pre-K program offers many curricular avenues to ensure this goal. Our program offers a multitude of fun and hands on activities which are built around process and student orientated goals and milestones. The children enjoy many inter-curricular, pro-social elements within the Pre-Kindergarten environment. Our expectations and assessments are based directly from the Massachusetts Department of Education State Frameworks for both Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Students.Each of our specific program highlights are described in detail in our unique Pre-Kindergarten Family Packet, which is distributed to all new enrolling families!
