About Plymouth House Nursery School

At Plymouth Church, we believe that children are an integral part of the body of Christ. We provide the tools and support for our children to recognize and fulfill their own ministry. We listen to their ideas and respond, providing a safe and secure place to explore and grow in faith. We strive to create a community that encourages and celebrates our children's unique gifts and talents. Our children's ministry is an integral part of our church.

Programs

Nursery

Every Sunday morning, from 9:45 to 11:45, September through June, the church Nursery is open to children 3 years-old and younger. The Nursery is staffed by CORI-checked adult volunteers and youth helpers. Our Nursery is warm, bright, and full of toys for free play. In order to maintain a safe and age-appropriate environment for our littlest ones, older children are not allowed in the Nursery, including older siblings of nursery children. Older children may attend worship and Faith Discovery with their parents and church friends

Junior Deacons

The Junior Deacons are children in 3rd-6th grade who assist the pastors and adult deacons celebrate Communion by serving bread, releasing pews, and collecting the offering. They also serve as acolytes and participate in baptisms and welcoming new members. Every child in 3rd & 4th grade participates in two special Faith Workshop classes in the fall to learn about communion and service, at which point they may choose to become a Junior Deacon
