About Greenwood Music Camp

At Greenwood Music Camp, we strive to create a musical community that is far more than just a summer camp. We want to provide an experience that will enrich each camper and inspire our community with the joy of making great music and creating life-long friendships. Located in the hills of Cummington, Massachusetts, our summer chamber music program is the perfect place for middle and high school students to hone their craft and develop their skills as musicians. At Greenwood Music Camp, our goal is to provide an environment that encourages young musicians to reach their highest potential. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to creating a positive and supportive atmosphere that fosters a spirit of collaboration and exploration. Junior Camps Ages 10-13

Junior Camp takes place over two weeks at the end of August and accepts string, wind, and piano students aged 10–13. Greenwood Music Camp is a summer camp for classical musicians. The camp offers a life which combines the profound sharing and communication of the chamber music experience with a supportive family-like daily life. In addition to music, Junior Greenwood is filled with fun activities! Games and activities are organized and supervised by the counselors. They include games of soccer, “crackabout,” (Greenwood’s form of dodge ball), capture the flag, a scavenger hunt, a treasure hunt, charades, and a talent show.

Senior Camp Ages 13-18

Senior camp is five weeks long, lasting through July and into the first week of August, and accepts students aged 13–18. Applicants should have had prior chamber music and orchestral experience. The Senior camp enrolls about 60 campers many of whom return from the previous year. Preference is often given to people who have been on the wait list and who still express a desire to come. Greenwood does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, sexual preference or national origin.
