About YMCA

If you're in the mood for an urban adventure, the Cambridge YMCA is easy to get to. We are conveniently located in Central Square, on the Red Line for public transportation. Buses frequently pass by our Mass Ave. site, and we are approximately halfway between MIT and Harvard University, directly across from City Hall. If you're driving, the Mass Pike, Storrow Drive, and Memorial Drive will take you right to us. Our parking lot is located directly behind the building on Green Street, and there is metered parking available on Mass Ave. and the surrounding streets.

Aquatics
The infant/toddler classes are for water acclimation of swimmers from 6 months to 3 years of age. We have 4-6 parent child pairs per class and do a mix of songs, activities, and instruction to gain comfort and swimming readiness.

Preschool
At the Cambridge YMCA Preschool, we pride ourselves in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. Our classroom consists of mixed ages 2.9 to 5 years. Our preschool children are encouraged to learn cooperatively, to be self-assured, confident, problem solve with the help of our well experienced and educated staff.

Summer Program
The Cambridge YMCA’s Summer Program provides structured, fun-filled activities and outings to local parks, as well as weekly field trips to museums, movies, beaches, and other exciting locations in the Boston/Cambridge area. Our children have access to a wide range of enrichment and educational activities including arts and crafts, dance, science club, and gym activities. Some of these activities are offered every day, giving your child the chance to repeat favorite activities or explore something new.
