About Artbarn Community Theater

Artbarn Community Theater is an outstanding way for children of all ages to explore the performing arts and develop their creative skills. We strive to create a safe, positive, and stimulating environment, and in doing so, our young performers become confident and self-assured. In addition, our High School internship program is a unique opportunity for alumni to gain teaching and mentorship experience while earning community service hours. At Artbarn Community Theater, we believe that every child should experience the magic of the performing arts. Whether they’re taking the stage or working behind the scenes, our youth are actively involved in all aspects of production. From pre-schoolers learning to act, sing, and dance, to high schoolers gaining valuable teaching and mentorship experience, Artbarn provides an incredible opportunity to explore and develop creativity. Our nurturing atmosphere helps foster confidence and self-assurance, giving kids the skills they need to succeed.

SPROUTS

A theatrical playground where our youngest actors are invited to explore their creativity together. Through dramatic play, crafts, and musical activities, the Sprouts program introduces the art of storytelling and the magic of theater. Planting the seeds of confidence, collaboration, and creativity, the lessons learned in the Sprouts classroom will last a lifetime. The Sprouts program welcomes seasoned performers and stage novices alike. Each session culminates in a showcase performance for family and friends.

FIELD MICE PLAYERS

The Field Mice Players introduces our youngest performers to all aspects of stage performance, including acting, singing, dancing, and ensemble work. Actors hone their skills and build confidence while creating an original play or musical (devised by the actors and directing team), culminating in a pair of performances on Artbarn’s main stage. The Field Mice Players welcome seasoned performers and stage novices alike, and all registered actors are guaranteed a role in the show.

DUCK SOUP TROUPE

The Duck Soup Troupe offers age-specific instruction in all aspects of stage performance, including acting, singing, dancing, and ensemble work. Actors hone their skills and build confidence while rehearsing a fully staged play or musical, culminating in a pair of performances on Artbarn’s main stage. The Duck Soup Troupe welcomes seasoned performers and stage novices alike, and all registered actors are guaranteed a role in the show.
