About Merrimack Valley Icelandics

We offer education about the Icelandic horse and Icelandic riding style through a variety of resources. Clinics, lectures, video instruction, and private lessons are all available. For a truly unique experience, we also provide guided horseback treks to Iceland. In addition, we offer instruction and testing clinics for the Knapamerki System developed by Holar University in Iceland. Our classes are designed for all ages and riding levels, from first time riders to experienced competitors. We focus on body awareness in the saddle, as well as the connection between horse and rider to gain the ultimate harmony.

Youth Lessons

Kids will become more confident and accountable as they experience horse care including grooming and tacking up as well as time in the saddle. Lessons take place in the indoor ring, outdoor round pen, or on the trail. All levels of riding experience are welcome!

Summer Programs

The summer season at MVI offers lessons. General horsemanship, tack care, theory and riding.

Equestrian Yoga Instruction

Equestrian yoga helps to strengthen the body and mind connection which will lead to a stronger connection with the horse and to better riding. Just like we train our horses to be mentally and physically sound - riders should also train for the same.
