About Greenwood Shalom After School

At Greenwood Shalom, we are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment that attends to the spiritual, educational, physical, and social needs of children, young adults, and their parents. Our program is designed to maximize the potential of each child’s academic and social development. Through our tutoring services, we strive to cultivate a sense of self-confidence, personal responsibility, and respect for others. Additionally, we host a variety of enrichment activities throughout the year to engage our students and help them to explore their passions. Our commitment to the community does not stop at tutoring and enrichment activities. We partner with local organizations and businesses to provide resources and support to families in need. We have a food pantry, annual back-to-school drive, and a Thanksgiving dinner for families in our area. We are proud to be an active part of the Dorchester community.

SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM(AGE 5-13)

We have a wide variety of exciting outdoor activities. These include but not limited to: Health and Exercise Field Trips Arts and Crafts Soccer Camp Swimming

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM(AGE 5-13)

Our Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) Preparation program is focused on ELA and Mathematics. This will help students develop a strong foundation in reading and math skills. We also provide test-taking strategies. We provide instructions that are geared towards the goals and objectives of our students’ Individual Education Plan (IEP). These are customized academic instructions in Reading and Mathematics. In this program, we have a speech and language consultant to guide your kids. We also provide computerized instruction assistance and pre-/post-testing.

BOOT CAMP (AGE 5-13)

Our Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) Preparation program is focused on ELA and Mathematics. This will help students develop a strong foundation in reading and math skills. We also provide test-taking strategies where students will learn how to build stamina for test-taking so that they can complete the exam and be successful.
