About Plymouth Nursery School

Plymouth Nursery School (PNS) was founded in 1946 as a non-profit institution sponsored by Plymouth Congregational Church. Since its inception, PNS has been committed to serving the greater community. The school is overseen by a Board of Directors consisting of church members, staff, and parents. Although the school is affiliated with the church, religious instruction is not included in the curriculum. At PNS, parents are encouraged to participate in their child’s experience. This can range from volunteering on various committees, attending social functions, and even helping out in their child’s classroom. By actively involving parents in their child’s educational journey, PNS seeks to create a supportive and enriching environment for children. For over seventy years, Plymouth Nursery School has been a cornerstone of the community thanks to its commitment to fostering the development of young children. PNS has done this by providing a safe and nurturing environment, while also encouraging parents to be involved in their child’s learning. Through its semi-cooperative approach, PNS has been able to create a unique learning experience for children that is both meaningful and enjoyable.

Younger Class
Children in the 3/4 year old class can attend school on 3, 4, or 5 mornings a week. There can be 13 children in the class each day.

Older Class
Children in the 4/5 year old class can choose to attend school 4 or 5 mornings a week. On any given day the maximum enrollment is 12.

Extended Day Program
For 2021-22 our Extended Day program will be held from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays if there is sufficient demand from the enrolled families. This begins the third week of school and ends in May. Children bring their own lunch and enjoy a mixture of free play and planned activities.
