About Habitat Summer Camps

Habitat Nature Camp in Belmont has been inspiring young minds for over four decades. We strive to provide a unique outdoor experience that encourages children to explore, question, and become more connected to nature. Our campers benefit from quality guided activities that foster discovery and an appreciation for the natural world. At Habitat Nature Camp, we are dedicated to helping children learn more about the environment in a safe and stimulating setting. Our goal is to engage campers in activities that will spark their curiosity and provide opportunities to observe, investigate, and develop a deeper understanding of the natural world. We have been a trusted provider of outdoor education since 1974. We believe in the power of outdoor exploration and the importance of making meaningful connections with nature. At Habitat Nature Camp, we provide young people with a unique opportunity to learn and grow through discovery. Our experienced staff facilitates activities that invite children to learn, question, and form relationships with the world around them.

Ramblers Pre-K, age 4
Ramble through the woods, using your senses to investigate the world around you. Get to know the plants and animals that can be found at Habitat as well as in your own backyard. Campers must be age 4 by June 1.

Pathfinders Kindergarten, age 5
Choose a path to follow and uncover Habitat’s secret places. Go on a hike to search for critters in the places where they live and grow. Learn what makes different animals unique and what we have in common with them. Campers must be age 5 by June 1.

Ecologists Grades 5–7, ages 10–12
Deepen your understanding of how nature works by taking a closer look at soil, water, plants, and animal populations. Discover how animals and plants are connected to their environment in a fascinating web of life. Be a steward of the sanctuary by participating in conservation activities such as invasive species removal and bird box monitoring. Embark on a field trip to a local Massachusetts river and investigate by canoe. Complete the experience with an all-day hike on nearby conversation land and an overnight campout at Habitat.
