About Wee Folk Learning Center

At our center, we believe that children need a setting that is loving, nurturing, and safe. We take great care in providing a learning environment that is designed to foster creativity and promote growth in all developmental areas. Our curriculum is tailored to the individual and provides a balance of free choice and structured activities. We encourage social interaction, problem solving, and dramatic play to help the children learn to like themselves and the world around them. Our goal is to provide an atmosphere of exploration and discovery that will help the children reach their full potential. We further take the time to develop meaningful relationships with the families of our students. We believe that family involvement is a key component in helping the children reach their full potential. We strive to create an atmosphere of trust and respect between the families and our staff. We also provide workshops and resources to the families so that they can become more active participants in their children’s learning. Our philosophy is to provide the resources needed to help the children and their families succeed and grow.

Infants

Infants at Wee Folk Learning Center grow and develop in a warm and secure environment. Each baby’s schedule is unique and allows for a balance of active play and rest to match their individual needs and interests. Teachers spend special time with each infant; cuddling together for a bottle or a story, playing a game of peek-a-boo while diapering, and setting up stimulating experiences for each baby’s playtime.

Toddlers

Toddlers by nature are active learners, and therefore need plenty of opportunities for “hands on” learning experiences. With the assurance of an attentive adult nearby, the toddler plunges into a discovery of self and environment. At Wee Folk Learning Center, toddlers learn to live comfortably with others, to master their feelings and to love life and learning. Through play, your child will experience science, art, music and movement while developing language and social skills with emerging physical and cognitive competence.

Kindergarten

Our Private Kindergarten program strives to instill in children a thirst for knowledge and a love of learning. The learning environment is stimulating and challenging. Many of our activities are “hands on”, encouraging our children to learn through active exploration, interaction, and play. Our rigorous, yet enjoyable curriculum prepares students for first grade and later learning. So, if you’re looking for a private Bellingham Kindergarten program, schedule a visit. Before & After School Care

The Wee Folk Learning Center School Age Programs offer both Before and After School care for children between the ages of 5-13 years. Having several different classrooms, the children are allowed the opportunity to play with peers their own age and stay divided from those older and younger. It is the goal of our program to provide a warm, caring environment which promotes the individual child’s physical, intellectual, emotional, and social well being and growth.
