About Chimney Corners Camp YMCA
For 90 years, Chimney Corners Camp has been a place where girls can create unforgettable memories. Our camp is no ordinary summer camp, with a range of activities that are sure to please any camper. Even if you've never been to an overnight camp before, our staff and campers will make you feel at home in no time.
Chimney Corners Camp is located on over 1400 acres in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. With rustic beauty, campers can enjoy the historic New England town and the surrounding nature. We also offer new facilities and recreational equipment to keep our campers excited and busy all summer long.
At Chimney Corners Camp, we strive to give girls the best summer experience. With 90 years of history, campers are sure to have the time of their lives and create life-long friendships. With a range of activities, new facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere, campers can make the most of their summer with us!
Programs
The classes, camps and experiences this business offers.
Traditional Program
The heart of our camp program is the traditional 4-week session. Campers live together with 7 or 8 other campers and two staff members in a rustic cabin. The campers spend each morning together as a group and do a different morning activity each day.
Each camper participates in planning activities, keeping the cabin clean, and ensuring that the camp experience is positive for the entire group. By spending the full four weeks at camp, campers gain mastery of the camp program, make strong connections with others and build the confidence in their independence. We believe that campers that start with the four week program have the best chance.
LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
Campers completing the 11th grade can apply to the Aides Program, our Leader-in-Training Program (LIT). This highly competitive program is designed to help young leaders transition from campers to staff, by providing a challenging and competitive leadership program. This final step provides participants with the skills and confidence necessary to assume a staff role and ensures our programs have well-trained staff for the future. The vast majority of the cabin staff at Chimney Corners Camp participated as both campers and LITs before becoming staff.
Specialty Programs
In addition to the traditional camp option, Chimney Corners Camp offers a variety of specialty programs. Qualified applicants fill all programs on a first-come, first serve basis. Many are extremely popular, often filling within days of the start of registration. Specialty Cabins may require the investment in additional equipment by participants. Details will be included in the spring mailing.
