About Sunshine Nursery School

Sunshine Nursery School is a unique preschool that fosters strong relationships between families and our school. We believe in encouraging social and emotional health by creating trusting relationships and respecting each child’s individual needs. Our top-notch staff and small class sizes create a secure and joyful atmosphere, and our curriculum promotes important life skills such as self-esteem and a love of learning. Parents are an integral part of our semi-cooperative preschool, and we work together to ensure our children have the best possible experience.

The Threes
Our Threes program serves those children who are at least 2 years and 9 months by September of the enrollment year. A year in Threes class: Encourages social skills through play Facilitates separation from a parent Develops independence through self-help skills Provides ample time for free play, creative endeavors, and gross motor skills

The Fours
A year in the Fours class: Encourages cooperative learning through play Enhances independence and self–help skills Increases language and confidence through interactions with peers and adults Nurtures kindness and empathy within the class community

Pre-K
Our Pre-K program serves 4 and 5-year-old children who either miss the kindergarten cut-off date for their town or who will benefit from an additional year in a pre-school setting. A year in Pre-K: Continues to focus on social/emotional growth Increases independence and self-help skills Encourages children to express ideas and thoughts through art and journaling Provides opportunities to explore nature through extensive outdoor time, gardening, and maple-sugaring
