Once upon a time, in the land of skyscrapers and cornfields known as Illinois, there lived kids who had a peculiar love for a frosty activity. They were no ordinary children, they were the 'Snow Sliders' of Illinois. Now, you may think Illinois is all about deep-dish pizzas, The Windy City, and the mighty Mississippi, but these cool kids added a dash of snowy fun to it. Led by their zany, snow-loving mascot, Sir Fluffington, a giant yeti with a heart as warm as a hot chocolate on a snowy day, they embarked on their wintertime adventures. Sir Fluffington, despite being a furball of clumsiness, was a wizard on skis. He would whoosh down the slopes with the grace of a ballet-dancing polar bear, leaving a trail of giggles and gasps in his wake. Every winter, these kids clad in vibrant ski gear would gather around the frost-kissed hills of their beloved state. With rosy cheeks and twinkling eyes, they would glide, swerve, and occasionally tumble down the slopes. Even when they'd land face-first into a pile of snow, they'd burst into laughter, their spirits unbroken and their desire for fun undiminished. The Snow Sliders of Illinois were more than just a group of kids who loved skiing. They were a team that mastered the art of embracing chilled winds, fearless falls, and most importantly, having a whale of a time. The inhabitants of Illinois would watch them in awe, their hearts filled with admiration, and perhaps, a tiny wish to join Sir Fluffington and his merry band of Snow Sliders in their snowy escapades.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
