As they progress through the elementary, middle, and high school programs, Lycée students explore a range of subjects in their native language and in French, while developing their global understanding. At Lycée Français de Chicago, we’re dedicated to helping our students become the people they want to be. Language Immersion Camps

World Camp is open to Lycée and non-Lycée students alike, and welcomes speakers of all levels of fluency. We offer language immersion day camps in French, but also in Arabic, Italian, German and Mandarin Chinese thanks to partnerships with great schools and organizations recognized for their expertise. These partnerships bring energy to our camps, help create new friendships and make World Camp a truly international experience. To build bridges between campers, languages and cultures, full camp events are organized every week, such as Tuesday field trips, Fridays at the beach with BBQ, and an end of camp celebration is organized at the end of each session allowing students to showcase their camp accomplishments.

Investigative Learning Camps

At our summer Investigative Learning Camps, students ages 11-15 learn to think critically, consider new ideas, work together and have fun. These exciting themed camps are taught by Lycee Francais de Chicago (LFC) teachers as well as by a team of experienced educators and professionals. Students split their day between morning classes in the track of their choice — English advanced, French advanced, French as a second language — and adventurous afternoons in Chicago. Campers can decide to make their morning about language acquisition in French, or to follow an IB-inspired track that allows them to do their own research and dive deeper into the topic of the week. Students projects can be based on audio, video or creative writing.
