About Lighthouse ArtCenter - Tequesta

At the Lighthouse ArtCenter Gallery and School of Art, our mission is to inspire, engage, and connect all walks of life through the universal language of art. Our vision is to create an impactful, inclusive art center that celebrates the creativity of our community. We offer classes in a variety of media, from traditional to niche, so that everyone can find a way to express themselves artistically. Our exhibitions showcase unique and captivating artwork, and we host social and educational events to further foster the creative spirit of our community. We also provide community-based art outreach programs to those in need. As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, we are dedicated to making art accessible to everyone, regardless of circumstance. Our community-centered events and programs provide an environment that encourages artistic exploration and growth. We strive to create an atmosphere of acceptance and inclusivity, and to make art a part of everyone's life. Through our efforts, we hope to bring joy and understanding to our community through the universal language of art.

Youth Draw and Paint

This course provides an in-depth study to drawing and painting materials. The seven elements of art will be covered in the following subjects: portraits, one-point perspectives, animals in landscapes, and abstracts. Mediums used are pencils, watercolor, sharpies, alcohol ink markers, colored pencils, and acrylic paints. Instilling good habits in young artists, students will create a portfolio the first day of class that will be sent home full of their artwork on the last day. Youth Draw and Paint is a great experience for young artists with their eyes on Bak.

Art School Prep

Designed to prepare students for the BAK auditions. Students will learn advanced techniques in still life drawing and construction techniques for paper sculptures. This course is exceptional for young artists wishing to hone their skills to become a better artist.
